Solutions – Professional firms and agencies
“Just a quick question” is rarely quick.
The lawyer is at a hearing, the accountant is chasing a VAT deadline, and a man who lost his job this morning wants to ask someone right now what happens next. The agent hears him out, notes what it’s about in a few sentences and books a first consultation. It doesn’t give advice over the phone.

The problem
Where the money slips away
Four situations in which this line of work most often loses a customer. You’ve probably had at least one this week.
The first office that answers
Anyone looking for a lawyer, an accountant or a flat rarely calls just one office. The work usually goes to whoever answers and offers an appointment straight away, even when another firm has better references.
Off-the-cuff advice is a risk
“Do I have to pay tax on the flat I sold?” An off-the-cuff answer, over the phone and without the paperwork, can cost the client and you dearly. So the agent gives no legal or tax advice. It notes what the matter is and books a consultation.
The client arrives without the paperwork
The first consultation comes down to “I left that at home”, because nobody said to bring the contract, the decision letter or the title deeds. When booking, the agent says what to bring, from the list you’ve drawn up for that kind of case.
Sensitive subjects over the phone
Divorce, inheritance, money owed to the tax office. People don’t like discussing these even with a lawyer, let alone with someone on the phone. The agent asks only what it needs for the appointment and stays out of details that belong in the consultation.
Sample conversation
What it sounds like on the phone
An ordinary call, the kind you get on a Tuesday around noon.
Hello. I’ve been let go and I don’t think it was legal. What can I do?
I can’t give you legal advice over the phone, but Mr Jovanović, our lawyer, can see you on Thursday at 10:00. Would that suit you?
Thursday’s fine. Should I bring anything?
Your employment contract, the dismissal notice and your last few payslips, if you have them. The consultation takes half an hour. Thursday at 10:00, what name is it?
Petar Nikolić. Thank you.

Common questions
What people ask us most
Does the agent give legal or tax advice?
No, not even a quick or “ballpark” answer. The agent notes what it’s about, tells the client what to bring and books a consultation. Any question that needs a professional opinion goes to you, as a message or a transferred call.
Does what the client says stay confidential?
Yes. The agent asks for no more than the appointment needs and doesn’t tell anyone who called or why. Only you and we can see the recordings and transcripts, and we delete them after 90 days.
Hear the agent book a consultation and leave the advice to you.
Call the demo agent from your browser, and on a short video call we’ll show you how we’d set it up for you. Then you can judge for yourself.
