About us
Two brothers, and a business few people would dare to start.
Rajko brought the idea; Nikola sat down at the computer and started digging. On 9 March 2026 we registered the domain, and since then we’ve been working on one thing: making sure a small salon, practice or repair shop doesn’t lose a customer just because nobody could get to the phone.
- We started
- 9 March 2026
- Where we’re from
- Based in Belgrade, originally from Montenegro
- Market
- The Balkans first, then Western Europe
- Funding
- Self-funded, no investors
Our story
Friday, half past four. A hairdresser is in the middle of a cut, another client is waiting with colour on her hair, and the phone on the counter is ringing. She doesn’t pick up: her hands are full, and the people already in the salon come first. That evening she finds three missed calls. Hardly any of those people call back.
The idea was Rajko’s. Nikola looked into what was already out there and quickly noticed two things. Phone agents had finally become good enough, and cheap enough, for small businesses. And while they all spoke excellent English, in Serbian, over an ordinary phone line, they stumbled on the very first sentence.
We built the first versions of the agent on technology that could barely understand our language. Nikola spent months looking for a way to make it sound human anyway, and he got there. The technology is better now. It isn’t perfect, and we won’t pretend it is, but it works, and it gets a little better every month.
We’re starting with the Balkans because it’s our language and our people. We’re from Montenegro and live in Belgrade, so nobody needs to explain to us how people talk in Nikšić and how they talk in Subotica. Once everything here works as it should, we’ll head west.
The name Nicra comes from our own names. The two of us run the company and fund it ourselves. We want Nicra to succeed, and to be respected for the work it does. And in a few years, we want it to become a platform that gives other people the same kind of chance we made for ourselves.
“Nobody gave us a chance, so we made our own. The next step is to give one to someone else.”
Who we are
Ten years between us, and we talk every day.

Rajko Čepić
Sales and operations
The older brother, and where it all started. He talks to salon and practice owners, listens to what’s getting in their way and makes sure the company stands on solid ground. For now, he’s also the only one putting money into Nicra.

Nikola Čepić
Product and engineering
The younger brother, twenty years old. He built the agent and everything around it, from the phone line to the calendar. When something isn’t working right, he’s the first to notice and the first to fix it.
How we work
Four things we stick to, even when it would be easier not to
Language first
In the big global systems, Serbian is one of a hundred languages in a drop-down menu. For us it’s the first thing we check, before the agent takes a single real call. If it doesn’t understand the caller first time, it doesn’t matter how nicely it talks.
We set it up, you get on with your work
A salon owner doesn’t need to know what a prompt is; she has better things to do. You tell us your services, prices and how you take bookings, and we set the agent up and hand it over ready. When something isn’t right, you have someone to call.
We’re close by
We work in your time zone and speak your language. When something goes wrong on a Friday afternoon, you’re writing to people for whom it’s also Friday afternoon.
Everything stays yours
Your phone number, your calendar and all your data stay yours. If you leave one day, you take all of it with you. If you stay, let it be because the agent does its job well.
We’d rather you heard us than read about us.
Call the agent and ask it the question you’re tired of answering. Then we’ll work out together whether it pays off for you.
